Building Trust One Tiny Action at a Time 🏗️
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.” — Aristotle
“Commit to one micro-habit for a week—something simple, such as drinking a glass of water every morning. Track your consistency, and notice how the act of showing up for even a small task builds confidence and momentum.”
I used to tell myself I wanted to read more. But every time I picked up a book, I found reasons to do something else—answer texts, make a snack, scroll social media. You name it, I did it, besides reading of course.
Then I tried something different.
A tiny dare. A pledge to myself.
For one week, I’d read a single page each morning.
Just one. Not five. Not fifty. One.
Shockingly, it worked. That little promise flipped a switch. Over seven days, I was stunned by how that tiny display of commitment shifted my mindset. I began feeling proud of sticking to a routine, which sparked more confidence to keep going.
Most mornings, I didn’t stop at one page. Momentum did its thing, and I found myself lost in the words until the responsibilities of life yanked me back.
Turns out, it wasn’t the size of the act that mattered.
It was keeping the promise.
Simple as that.
Pick your micro-habit. Make it ridiculously simple.
Something so easy it feels like cheating. Maybe it’s drinking a glass of water when you first wake up, or writing one kind thought in a notebook each day.
Keep track in a notebook or on your phone.
Doesn’t matter. Just mark it every time you follow through.
At the week’s close, look at your track record and feel the power of self-trust growing.
