The Real Killers Never Pull the Trigger
Silence has a price. The moment you pay attention to where the lines are drawn, you find out who drew them.
If this stirs something in you, stay with it. Healing Thoughts is where I strip the silence away. If you’re not subscribed yet, now’s the time. It’s only getting rawer from here.
"They want you angry at the wrong faces.
While you fight each other, they keep writing the rules."
I kept throwing punches at strangers,
until my hands bled,
and the crowd cheered.
Someone in the shadows
kept handing me new enemies,
new stories,
new rules to break and be punished for.
I could feel them smiling
when I missed the real target.
The one I couldn’t see.
The one that never showed up to fight.
My rage kept the lights on.
Their silence kept the game running.
I still wonder what I’d do
if they ever stepped into the ring.
“If you want to know who rules over you,
look at who you are not allowed to criticize.”
— Voltaire
Anger is easy when there’s someone standing in front of you. It feels clean. It feels righteous. But most of the time, the real source of the pain isn’t in the room. It’s behind the curtain, setting the stage so you never notice where the fire started.
Power thrives when it keeps you distracted. It hands you conflict like rations, makes you believe you’re fighting the right war. But every time you burn out on the wrong battle, you lose a little more of yourself, and they get to keep their throne.
The hardest thing you will ever do is stop swinging long enough to ask who benefits from the fight. Sometimes you’ll find there is no villain you can strike. There is only a system you have to stop feeding. That’s where the real rebellion begins.
