Tracking Down Your Inner Limits 🕵️♂️
"Argue for your limitations, and sure enough they're yours." — Richard Bach
"For one day, notice how your beliefs influence your actions. Keep a tally of moments where you hesitated or avoided something because of a limiting belief."
Last Tuesday, I stood frozen at my kitchen table, staring blankly at the newsletter draft on my laptop. The cursor blinked at me. Steady. Expectant.
The message: a pitch I’d worked on carefully, a chance to share my thoughts with a broader audience. But my mind shouted a worn-out line: “You’re not ready yet.”
And so I hesitated.
One minute became ten. Ten became thirty.
Eventually, I closed the laptop, walked away, and let doubt win another round.
Ever been there? Held hostage by your own beliefs?
Look at Luke Skywalker. His journey wasn't simply battling Vader or the Empire. His real struggle was internal, his belief that he couldn't live up to his potential. His hesitation nearly cost him dearly. But when he questioned that inner story, when he moved forward despite uncertainty, everything changed.
Our deepest limits aren’t fences someone else built around us. They're walls we've constructed ourselves, brick by brick, thought by thought.
Here's your challenge for today:
Grab a notepad or open a note on your phone. Throughout your day, notice each time you pause, hesitate, or shy away from doing something because of a nagging belief. Make a simple tally.
Later tonight, review your list and ask yourself honestly:
Where did this belief come from?
Is this helping or hindering who I genuinely want to become?
Awareness is step one. Change follows closely behind.
"Argue for your limitations, and sure enough they're yours." — Richard Bach
Defending your limits only ensures you'll stay stuck behind them. So why not argue for possibilities instead?
Have you noticed beliefs lately that hold you back?
Maybe you’ve already faced one down and stepped past it.
Share your experience below.
Your voice matters.
Your journey could shine a light for someone else still stumbling in the dark.
Let’s talk, honestly and openly.
Beliefs aren’t harmless.
They guide your daily actions. They shape your reality.
But the beauty of it… beliefs can change.
They bend to new evidence, new choices, new courage.
Keep watching, questioning, challenging.
Each step toward truth creates strength. And remember, you don’t walk alone.
With warmth,
